Preparing the children for lifelong learning is only possible if one can inspire the joy of learning in them. My personal idol is our principal, Mr. Thomas Pallushek. His commitment to the school paves the way to modern educational methods and for me personally, new possibilities are opened.
I have been working as an educator in different institutes for many years now but since I am working for the German International School I constantly receive new incentives from our principal that usually contribute to the satisfaction of our children and the harmonisation of our processes. In my opinion it is an advantage to have an experienced manager like him as principal.
It is hard to believe that someone apart from Mr. Pallushek could rise a school from own means and fill it with substance and life.

It always was my desire to support children in their development. Especially taking the initial step into a new environment is a challenge for most of the parents and their children. For this reason it is a pleasure for me to see how easy the children settle in how fast they progress in the development of their personality.
But the best motivation for me is to see into the smiling faces of the children. The German International School is both: a wonderful place to work for me and the best place to grow up for the children.

Since I have been working with kids they have always fascinated me with their different personalities, which they already show in their early ages, every child in its own unique way.
By employing an integrated class system, teachers at the German School Chennai are able to give each child a large amount of personal attention and loving care to promote their individual strengths and their comprehensive development – emotional, social as well as cognitive.
The security of being accepted by trusted teachers provides a large variety of possibilities to develop their own unique personalities and a large amount of self-sufficiency.
Human nature compels everyone to strive for independence and responsibility. The protective environment of the school gives the children a lot of freedom from a very young age. The small class-sizes provide ample opportunity to develop social skills and contacts in a very respectful and caring environment.
My personal focus lies on sports, movement and helping each child experiencing his or her world with all senses, in all its variety. The German School Chennai gives me the opportunity to employ all of my skills in the best possible manner, while the comfortable atmosphere of the school gives me many opportunities to have fun and also laugh with the children.

It is fascinating to see, with how much joy and curiosity children explore their surroundings. It is very important, that children experience an environment which gives them the freedom and at the same time the security, to gain all those experiences. With it’s special pedagogy concept, the German International School provides a framework, which enables children to develop accordingly.
I am very happy to have the opportunity of working in a school which has such a beautiful concept on how to educate children. This gives me the motivation to help create the mandatory environment and to accompany children on their way.

Movement is the gateway to learning.
Children, who move with fun and joy, who are able to notice and sense their body, will be able to learn better and develop in a healthy way. The German International School with its openness and creativity and with its theme of individual and project-based learning and teaching provides the ideal framework for designing physical education, as such:
- every child is encouraged according to his/her individual circumstances,
- children are supporting each other in movement games and experience social interaction in sport
- the children develop together, and with the teacher’s assistance, movement and choreography to the music. This is the way how I design the physical education and gymnastics / dance class at the German International School Chennai. Last but not least, this activity brings me back to my roots and fills me with joy and gratitude.
